About Our Church

History

St Cuthbert’s church was originally built in Clifton Street Prospect in 1883. When the congregation increased, a new church was built on the current site at 49 Prospect Road in 1915. Set at the southern end of the Prospect shopping precinct, the church is a local landmark. Prospect Road is a major north south arterial in Adelaide. The old church hall in Gloucester street was sold in the 1980’s and in 2001 an annexe was built onto the church which includes the parish office. The Parish of Prospect has always understood itself and its culture to be inclusive and supportive of all people. Throughout its history, the parish has had a strong musical tradition.

Our Values

We are genuinely engaged in our faith journey, and we consider that faith in God, and exploring faith in God, to be central to our identity as a Christian community. We value information as well as experience, and having choice in how we process that. We value the acceptance of all people. We value the concept of loving human kindness, and exploring how we can express that in our day to day lives.
